Direct drive hydraulic pumps feature a hollow female splined shaft that slides straight onto a male-splined hydraulic motor — no coupler, no belt, no alignment work. This category covers AR’s RTX series (13-tooth spline, SAE B mount) and RTD series (14-tooth spline, SAE C mount), the -DD configurations engineered for industrial duty from 8 GPM at 4350 PSI through 40 GPM high-flow service.
The direct-coupled layout puts the motor and pump on one centerline inside a rigid flange interface, which eliminates the misalignment failures that shorten seal and bearing life in belt-driven systems. It also cuts the installed footprint dramatically — a critical advantage on hydro-excavation trucks, sewer jetters, fire suppression skids, and municipal equipment where every inch of deck space counts.
Confirm your motor’s spline count and SAE mount before ordering: RTX-class direct drive hydraulic pumps take 13T SAE B motors, while RTD-class units take 14T SAE C motors.
