Typical port sizes across the compatible range: small-frame RK-class pumps run 1/2″ F-BSPP inlets and 3/8″ F-BSPP outlets; mid-frame XWL and RTX pumps run 1″ and 1/2″ — NPT adapters readily available. Keep suction runs short, straight, and oversized from a flooded source, with anti-collapse hose and a coarse inlet strainer.

System Integration

Match motor displacement and hydraulic supply to target pump speed with the standard arithmetic — RPM ≈ 231 × hydraulic GPM ÷ displacement (in³); torque ≈ displacement × PSI ÷ 6.283; hydraulic horsepower ≈ GPM × PSI ÷ 1714 with efficiency applied. Set upstream reliefs for the duty pressure, specify 10–25 micron return filtration with an adequate beta rating, size the reservoir at 2–3× total system flow, and add oil cooling for hot climates, prolonged bypass, or continuous duty. Route any case drain above reservoir oil level to prevent aeration, observe A/B port orientation for correct rotation, and finish the water side properly: adjustable unloader, high-pressure relief, glycerin-filled gauge, and thermal relief valve. Installation Notes
