HYDM1425M Marzocchi LSHT Hydraulic Motor
Product Role & System Position
- Marzocchi external-gear hydraulic motor with approximately 8.7 in³/rev (≈142.5 cc/rev) displacement.
- Configured for high-torque hydraulic drive of mid- to large-frame Annovi Reverberi (AR) triplex plunger pumps.
- Designed for demanding pressure-wash systems where starting torque, smooth rotation, and long-duty stability are required.
- Optimized for direct, coaxial mounting with the pump on a rigid shared base.
- Eliminates belt drives, belt tension drift, and oversized guards common in traditional layouts.
Motor Architecture & Operating Characteristics
- External-gear LSHT motor manufactured by Marzocchi.
- Large displacement provides strong starting torque at low to moderate shaft speeds.
- Supports stable pressure rise and smooth running under heavy load.
- Reduces pressure fluctuation and trigger chatter when paired with properly sized AR pumps.
- Compact round-body form factor simplifies packaging in skids, service bodies, and plant carts.
Mounting & Alignment Strategy
- Intended for coaxial mounting with the pump on a shared rigid base.
- Shared centerline minimizes side loading on pump bearings and seal packs.
- Reduced side loads allow assemblies to run cooler, quieter, and with less vibration than belt-driven systems.
- Close-coupled layout preserves access to coupling hardware, fasteners, oil sight glass, and vented dipstick.
- Leaves perimeter space for short suction runs and tidy pressure and bypass routing.
Hydraulic Ports & Circuit Requirements
- Typical motor porting includes SAE-12 ORB (3/4″) pressure and return connections.
- Many builds include an SAE-8 ORB (1/2″) case drain; always verify on the supplied motor.
- A/B port orientation must be observed so motor rotation matches pump rotation.
- Any case drain must return to the reservoir above oil level and must never be capped or restricted.
- Hose IDs must be generously sized and bend radii respected to prevent restriction and heat buildup.
Quick Sizing & Shop Math
- Motor speed: RPM ≈ 231 × hydraulic GPM ÷ displacement (in³).
- With 8.7 in³ displacement, speed is approximately 26.5 × hydraulic GPM.
- Torque output: lb-in ≈ displacement (in³) × PSI ÷ 6.283.
- At 3000 PSI, estimated torque is approximately 4,155 lb-in (≈ 346 lb-ft).
- Hydraulic power: HP ≈ GPM × PSI ÷ 1714, then apply realistic motor and system efficiencies.
- Prime mover must be capable of supplying the full flow and pressure window required by the pump.
Compatible AR Pump Frames
- Well matched to mid-frame and larger AR triplex pumps requiring high torque at moderate RPM.
- Common AR pump pairings include:
- XWL50.20 — approximately 13 GPM at 3000 PSI.
- RTX60 — approximately 15.8 GPM at up to 4350 PSI.
- RTX70 — approximately 18.5 GPM at 2900 PSI.
- Pump selection must always respect published maximum RPM limits.
AR Pump Manufacturer & Water-Side Integration
- Pump manufacturer: Annovi Reverberi (AR), engineered and built in Modena, Italy.
- AR pumps ship with crankcase oil installed and include a vented dipstick and sight glass.
- Covered by a 5-year limited, conditional warranty.
- Warranty requires proper hydraulic and water-side installation, filtration, lubrication, and operation within published limits.
- Typical porting in this class includes 1″–1¼” F-BSPP inlet and 1/2″ F-BSPP outlet.
Water-Side Plumbing Requirements
- Suction plumbing must be short, straight, and oversized from a flooded supply.
- Anti-collapse suction hose and coarse inlet strainer required to prevent cavitation.
- Adjustable unloader matched to AR duty class required.
- Correctly sized high-pressure relief valve required for system protection.
- Glycerin-filled pressure gauge required for commissioning and diagnostics.
- Thermal relief valve required on bypass loop for extended gun-closed operation.
Integration Checklist
- Match motor displacement and available hydraulic flow to target pump RPM.
- Confirm torque and horsepower against nozzle selection and working pressure.
- Verify upstream relief settings, reservoir volume, filtration, and cooling capacity.
- Include and properly route a case drain if specified by the motor build.
- Lay out suction, pressure, and bypass lines with generous hose IDs and bend radii.
- Never overspeed the pump and never run it dry.
System Advantages
- High torque at low-to-mid speeds delivers stable pressure on large AR pump packages.
- Direct-drive layout eliminates belts, belt dust, retensioning, and bulky guards.
- Rigid, alignment-stable geometry extends bearing and seal life.
- Predictable hose routing supports repeatable OEM builds and faster pump swaps.
- Service-friendly access enables single-technician coupling inspection and routine PM.
Typical Applications
- Mobile wash fleets and service-truck installations.
- Heavy-equipment yards and rental turn-back wash systems.
- Municipal and DOT fleet maintenance facilities.
- Marine, tug-boat, and dock washdown systems.
- Food and beverage sanitation and packaging rooms (observe local hygienic standards).
- Agriculture and ranch equipment wash bays.
- Conveyor systems, parts-cleaning cells, plant carts, and contractor rigs with onboard hydraulic power.
