HYD4050 | Hydraulic Motor Pump Drive Unit | 4.0 GPM 5000 PSI | SRG Extreme Pressure
HYD4050 is where the compact hydraulic class tops out: an Annovi Reverberi SRG-class drive unit delivering 4.0 GPM at up to 5000 PSI at 1450 RPM. The SRG line is AR’s extreme-pressure evolution of the RG platform — published to 5100 PSI, built with ceramic plungers and a nickel-plated brass head as standard — and it exists for one reason: work that laughs at 4000 PSI. Above this duty point, the catalog jumps to true UHP systems with their dedicated power and system disciplines; the HYD4050 is the last stop where extreme pressure still runs on ordinary auxiliary hydraulics.
That capability defines its jobs. Industrial coating and mastic removal that 4000 PSI machines only scuff. Heavy rust scale and mill scale on structural steel. Decades-old sealers, membranes, and curing compounds coming off concrete for honest surface prep. Chewing gum and traffic film at airport and stadium scale. Marine growth and years of paint on hulls and steel. Where contractors currently rent blast equipment or burn chemicals and dwell time, the HYD4050 puts strip-class water on the truck permanently.

Hydraulic Supply Requirements
Full 4.0 GPM at 5000 PSI performance calls for roughly 16 hydraulic horsepower — on the order of 9.8 GPM (37 L/min) of oil at approximately 2,800 PSI working pressure with the gear-motor pairing this frame class runs. Remarkable for the output: that envelope still fits strong skid steer auxiliaries, tractor remotes, and truck hydraulic systems, which is the whole argument for the SRG route over a UHP platform. Protect the motor with a relief set for its rating, route return oil short and filtered to tank, and size oil cooling for stripping duty — this work is trigger-on by the hour. Call WSHPWR with your machine’s auxiliary flow and pressure and we will confirm the pairing before you order.
The Last Stop Before UHP
Between 4000 PSI and the 7250+ PSI UHP world lies a wide band of work — and a wide gap in operating discipline. UHP brings certified components, specialized training, and dedicated power units; worth it when the job demands it, expensive when it doesn’t. The HYD4050 covers the band below that line: 5000 PSI-class stripping and prep with conventional (properly rated) accessories, standard operator skills, and hydraulics most machines already carry. For contractors, that means quoting strip work without renting UHP equipment; for fleets and plants, it means owning the capability outright. And because the nickel-plated head ships standard, the unit tolerates the strippers, degreasers, and chemistry that this class of work runs alongside.
Direct-Drive Simplicity
The hydraulic motor mounts to the pump through AR’s F38 close-couple flange — one centerline, no belts, pulleys, guards, or field alignment, minimal side loading on bearings and seals, and output independent of the host machine’s engine speed. Motor and pump dismount independently at the flange for service, and the unit installs as a bolt-down package on skids, trucks, and trailers.
SRG-Series Construction
The 402-series frame carries the SRG’s extreme-pressure head architecture with one-piece ceramic plungers, stainless wet-end components under the nickel plating, a die-cast crankcase with oil monitoring, and valve access through the head for inspection without dismounting the HYD4050. AR repair kits keep the service path standard — this is still an AR pump under the pressure rating.
Installation & Operation Notes
Mount horizontally and confirm motor rotation at commissioning. Feed the 1/2″ inlet from a flooded, filtered supply with short, unrestricted plumbing. Rate every downstream component — hose, gun, lance, surface cleaner, nozzles — for 5000 PSI with margin; nothing carried over from 3000 or 4000 PSI systems goes on this pump unverified. Fit an unloader against working pressure plus appropriate relief protection, size nozzle orifices to 4.0 GPM at working pressure, flush after chemical sessions to maximize the nickel head’s life, hold 1450 RPM, and winterize before cold-weather storage.
Quality Assurance & Maintenance
Every HYD4050 ships factory-tested for flow rate, pressure stability, and vibration. Maintenance follows AR’s standard schedule — crankcase oil changes, seal inspection, periodic valve checks with AR repair kits — with seal inspection intervals respected proportionally to the 5000 PSI duty point.
HYD4050 Key Features & Applications
- 4.0 GPM at 5000 PSI, 1450 RPM — the highest pressure in the compact hydraulic drive class.
- SRG extreme-pressure platform with nickel-plated brass head standard.
- Runs on ~9.8 GPM of oil (~16 hydraulic HP) — extreme pressure on ordinary auxiliary circuits.
- Covers the strip-and-prep band below UHP without UHP’s equipment and training overhead.
- F38 close-couple direct drive; standard AR repair kits under the pressure rating.
- Ideal for coating and mastic removal, rust and mill scale, sealer and membrane stripping, industrial gum and traffic film, hull and structural steel prep, and contractor strip rigs.
