The W4443VRTT — the tank feed variant — fully plumbed, industrial-duty package build of the Bertolini W4443 — a professional-grade triplex ceramic plunger pump WSHPWR bench tested, pre-lubricated, and shipped as a complete pressure system ready to mount. Every component in the W4443VRTT — the pump, the VRT3-310A external bypass unloader, the thermal relief valve, the bypass recirculation loop, and all fittings — is factory-plumbed, pressure-set, and WSHPWR bench tested before shipment. This is not an assembly kit. When the W4443VRTT arrives, it is ready to bolt onto your engine, connect your water supply, and operate at 4400 PSI from the first startup.
Direct-Drive Pump Replacement Compatibility
This pump is configured with industry-standard inlet and outlet ports and mounts directly onto any Honda GX390-powered direct-drive pressure washer with an SAE J609 1″ hollow bore flange. It is a direct replacement for the pump on the following machines:

The VRT3-310A provides smooth pressure regulation, stable output under varying flow conditions, and controlled bypass from the first startup. No aftermarket tuning required. The VRT external unloader is a significant upgrade over built-in unloader designs — it is fully serviceable in the field, replaceable without disassembling the pump head, and rated to 4500 PSI for a wide safety margin above the pump’s operating pressure.
- Easy Start Feature — At engine startup, the VRT bypass circuit opens and the pump starts against zero back pressure. The engine engages freely under no hydraulic load — recoil pull-starts require minimal effort and electric starters draw minimal current. Once the engine reaches operating speed, the bypass closes and the system builds to 4400 PSI. Easier starts on every pull. Less starter wear. Longer engine life. This is particularly valuable on Honda GX series engines and other recoil-start platforms where hydraulic back pressure at startup accelerates starter rope and pawl wear.
- Exterior Bypass Recirculation Loop — Factory-Plumbed — The bypass recirculation circuit is factory-assembled and connected, providing controlled water flow during trigger-off intervals and protecting the pump from pressure spikes throughout the cleaning cycle. When the trigger gun is closed, water bypasses through the VRT circuit rather than deadheading in the pump head — extending pump life and maintaining stable system pressure.
- Automatic Thermal Relief Valve (TRV) — Factory-Installed in Bypass Circuit — The thermal sensing element continuously monitors bypass water temperature. When bypass water reaches 124–145°F, the TRV opens automatically — hot water exits through the relief port and ambient-temperature supply water flows in to replace it. When temperature returns to the safe operating range, the TRV closes automatically. No manual reset. No operator intervention required. The W4443VRTT pump is thermally protected at all times — including during the extended idle intervals unavoidable in daily contractor and fleet washing operations.

- Factory Break-In Oil — Crankcase pre-filled at 0.16 U.S. gal with SynPower Gear Oil 75W-90. Oil sight glass and vented dipstick included for ongoing monitoring. Chemical Injector — Not Included
The W4443VRTT delivers straight 4400 PSI high-pressure water output through the VRT bypass circuit. Why the W4443VRTT Uses External Bypass — Not Built-In
Unlike built-in unloader designs, the W4443VRTT routes bypass flow through the external VRT3-310A. The standard W4443 includes a built-in unloader valve machined into the forged brass head. For many applications, this is ideal — it is compact, factory-calibrated, and requires no additional plumbing. The W4443VRTT takes a different approach for contractor and industrial applications where serviceability, pressure precision, and long-term reliability under continuous duty are the priority.
An external bypass unloader like the VRT3-310A is fully accessible without removing the pump head. Pressure adjustment is made at the unloader body — no disassembly required. If the unloader ever needs service or replacement, it is a standalone component that comes off independently without touching the pump. For operations running multiple shifts, fleet washing programs, or skid systems where downtime is measured in lost revenue, an external unloader is the professional-grade choice.

Tank Feed and Gravity Feed Systems
The “T” suffix on the W4443VRTT designates the Tank Feed configuration. Where standard pump installations draw water directly from a pressurized supply line, tank feed and gravity feed systems supply water from an elevated reservoir, IBC tote, buffer tank, or open container — relying on gravity head pressure or a low-pressure transfer pump rather than municipal supply pressure. This is common on trailer-mounted contractor rigs, skid systems with buffer tanks, agricultural washdown setups, and remote job sites where pressurized water supply is unavailable.
The Tank Feed Inlet King Hose Barb installed on this pump eliminates the adapter stack that would otherwise be required to connect a large-bore suction hose to the pump’s standard 1/2″ female thread inlet. The 1/2″ M NPT x 1-1/4″ plated steel hose barb accepts a 1-1/4″ non-collapsible suction hose directly — the barb profile locks the hose in place under suction without clamp slippage, and the hex base provides a wrench flat for a leak-free torqued connection. The result is a clean, low-restriction inlet path from tank to pump with no improvised fittings in the flow path.
